STEM is not a subject at JCSIS — it is the way we think. From Preschool through Grade 5, every child learns to apply knowledge creatively to solve problems that matter.
At JCSIS, STEM is not an occasional project or a specialist class. It is the connective tissue between every subject — the way we ask questions, design solutions, test ideas, and learn from failure.
Teaching STEM at a young age encourages more children to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. But more than career preparation, STEM education builds the mindset — curious, persistent, creative, collaborative — that every child needs whatever path they choose.

S·T·E·M
Every day. Every grade.
Each pillar of STEM is a distinct discipline — and together they form a complete approach to thinking, creating, and solving.
Pillar 1
Science
Inquiry-led experiments aligned with NGSS. Students observe, question, hypothesise, and conclude — developing a scientific mindset from Preschool through Grade 5.
Examples at JCSIS
Pillar 2
Technology
Responsible, creative, and confident use of technology. From early tablet literacy to coding, students become capable digital citizens ready for a tech-driven world.

Pillar 3
Engineering
The engineering design process — Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test, Improve — is taught at every grade level. Students build structures, devices, and solutions to real problems.

Pillar 4
Mathematics
Common Core mathematics that connects abstract concepts to real-world contexts. Every math lesson at JCSIS has a STEM application — making numbers matter to every student.

Teaching STEM at a young age opens doors that might otherwise stay closed. These are the outcomes we work toward every single day.
Show real-world applications of knowledge
Incorporate hands-on, experiential learning
Foster creativity across all disciplines
Promote equality in education
Develop critical thinking skills
Encourage independent exploration of subject matter
Teach collaboration and teamwork
Build resilience and persistence
Spark interest in future STEM careers
Integrate other disciplines (Arts / STEAM)
STEM at JCSIS is age-appropriate and progressively challenging — what starts as sensory play in Preschool becomes full engineering design by Grade 5.

We employ our students to be responsible digital citizens as they access our educational platforms, conduct research, code, build apps, and explore software. Technology is not just a tool at JCSIS — it is a language, and we make sure every student is fluent.

ICT & Digital Citizenship
Taught every grade — PreK through Grade 5
Six pillars of digital citizenship at JCSIS
Students learn to find, evaluate, and properly cite information from reliable online sources.
Understanding personal data, privacy settings, and staying safe in digital environments.
From block coding in early grades to Python fundamentals in Grade 4–5, students create with technology.
Responsible use of communication tools, platforms, and collaborative online workspaces.
Age-appropriate understanding of passwords, scams, and protecting digital identity.
Using apps and software to create presentations, videos, artwork, and multimedia projects.
Open enrollment is now available for the 2025–2026 academic year — Preschool through Grade 5. Limited spaces available.
